Directions to the observatory
Finding the NJAA Observatory
Using GPS or Smartphone Navigation
Don't worry if you feel like you're driving into the park. You're in the right place! Simply follow Observatory Road to the top of the hill and look for the NJAA parking lot.
The easiest way to find us is to search for:
Observatory Road, Glen Gardner, NJ
Be sure to select the Observatory Road located in Glen Gardner, New Jersey . Observatory Road leads directly to the observatory.
Once on Observatory Road, continue approximately one-half mile up the hill. The NJAA parking lot will be on your left.
Driving Directions
From Interstate 78 East
Take Exit 17 and follow Route 31 North.
From Interstate 78 West
Take Exit 16 and follow Route 31 North.
Continue north on Route 31 and turn onto
Route 513 North (toward High Bridge).
Follow Route 513 through High Bridge and continue north for approximately 1 mile beyond town.
As you approach a curve to the left, look for a 45 MPH speed limit sign on the right side of the road. Directly across from the sign is the entrance to Observatory Road within Voorhees State Park.
Turn left onto Observatory Road and continue approximately one-half mile to the NJAA parking area on the left.
Traveling South on Route 513
If you are approaching from Califon or points north:
After passing Voorhees High School on your left, continue south on Route 513 for approximately 1 mile.
Watch for a small brown "NJAA Observatory" sign on the right side of the road. The entrance to Observatory Road is immediately beyond the sign.
Turn right onto Observatory Road and continue up the hill to the
observatory parking area on the left.
