Youth / Family events will resume in 2010.
We are sorry, available space has been filled for the Youth/Family event for this month.

New for 2009 the NJAA will offer a Youth/Family program on the second Saturday of the month, from May through October. These events will kick off at 6:30pm and will run until approximately 8:00pm. These events may or may not include some kind of presentation, but the focus will always be 'hands on' learning. The events will be facilitated and staffed by Youth Committee members.

Who should come?
The recommended age range is 7 to 13 years old. Participants will often be involved in some sort of activity that allows them to 'make and take' (the ultimate end product of an activity can be taken home for further exploration).

How many should come?
We have also set a limit of 3 kids per parent/adult. Adults will be involved in all activities and will sit with, work with and learn astronomy alongside their children. Once you have arrived with your children, please plan on staying for the duration of the event (6:30-8pm). There is no charge for this event, but as we are a not-for profit, strictly volunteer organization, donations are always welcome and appreciated.

Please note, we always do what we can to accomodate but people who arrive without having signed up may not be able to participate. Our space is very limited and we will be optimizing seating for our known audience. Please do not surprise us with additional attendees. Kids are our priority! We reserve the right to turn away extra adults, in order to make room for more kids.
