Do you know how the most famous nebulae are named? They can be referred to by their Messier designation, like M42 for the great nebula in Orion. Messier
was a comet hunter who logged any stationary fuzzy thing in the sky he could find so he would not later mistake it as a comet. However the the less
clinical names for nebulae are more interesting. Many resemble some familiar object here on Earth. Take a cosmic Rorschach test and see if you can identify
which of the below nebulae is the Swan, the Trifid, the Horsehead and the North American.
