The Astonishing Eagle Nebula
	These canyon-like pillars are actually made up of concentrated hydrogen gas, a basic cosmic building block. The center pillar represents the eagle's right wing (see inset). This sight amazed the astronomers who first found it, but not as much as what further magnification uncovered. Click on the tallest pillar to find out what this thing really is.
