The Next Step

The next steps towards the creation of a permanent radio system installation include an antenna improved by the switch to a 3-element yaggi design and the addition of a low-noise preamplifier. The present software seems to work well, but the assimilation of a meteor counts still requires a manual operation, which if eliminated would speed-up the process. Software programs are currently available that take the HROFFT images in bulk and count the meteors that appear. Further experimentation is required to see which works best. The addition of an audio capture element to the system is also contemplated. This plan may prove problematic, as the audio files generated would be large and difficult to search for data. However, a software solution may be available to simplify that challenge as well.
